The Cowboy Entrepreneur Foundation was started to help injured cowboys cover their medical expenses and support the families of cowboys who have passed away.
Together with her father, Scott Knudsen, Hailey co-founded The Cowboy Entrepreneur Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to assisting injured rodeo cowboys and the families left behind when tragedy strikes in the sport they love.
Scott Knudsen, a rodeo cowboy himself, has had many close brushes with death. One story that deeply resonated with him was about a fellow cowboy who was fatally injured by a bull, leaving behind his young child and his wife. The incident struck a chord because Scott had experienced a similar injury from a bull but was fortunate enough to survive.
Moved by this and feeling blessed to still be here as a family, Scott, his wife Tracy, and their daughter Hailey decided to make a difference. Cowboys often live paycheck to paycheck, relying on their rodeo winnings to make a living. When injured and unable to compete, many face financial hardships, struggling to pay their bills.
The Cowboy Entrepreneur Foundation seeks to break this cycle by offering support to those who need it most, ensuring that injured cowboys and grieving families aren’t left to face these challenges alone.
